I am traveling from Chicago to the middle of nowhere, Texas to dig a hole in a barren yet alive landscape. This hole suggests an underground peepshow, viewable only by film and video from the top down. Around the hole, I will build a series of concentric trenches, as many as my body and the land will allow. This is not only a study in durational performance art, it is an absolute whole-body immersion in actual endurance and, to a certain extent, survival.
